White female student dismissed her claim but Advocates keep harassing Brown Professor

An internet “troll” is someone who harasses others in response to the other peoples’ opinions or even just their participation online.

Trolling happens in all corners of the Internet and became a tool (or a weapon)... According to a Pew Research Center 2014 survey, 73% of adults have observed the harassment of others online, and 40% have themselves been targeted for harassment. Trolls most frequently target young adults (18-29), 65% of whom reported that they have been trolled.

Responses to Trolling

In addition to any legal options that a person targeted by a troll may have, non-legal responses include the following.

  • Don’t feed the troll. Most trolls just want attention. You “feed” trolls by engaging with them, so if you ignore them, they sometimes give up.
  • Block them. Unfriend or block a troll, if possible. Of course, this won’t stop the troll from posting offensive comments or tweets about you, or prevent others from taking up the cudgel against you, too.
  • Report them. Report the troll to the online service. This eventually worked for Duca and Jones, and online service providers and social media companies may respond to reports. Check the site’s terms of service to see if the troll is in violation.
  • Discuss. Start a discussion of the trolling, in hopes that you’ll marshal support and inspire responses that may discourage the troll. (This, of course, “feeds” the trolls, but it might work when ignoring them doesn’t.)
  • Expose. Trolls skulk in anonymity, and may back off if exposed. You can get some information on the sites themselves. Twitter, for example, requires users to provide a name and username, which are publicly available. However, Twitter allows users to give pseudonyms. Check the privacy policy of any site in question to find out what user information is publicly available.
  • Exit. You always have the ultimate option—to exit the online site. A less extreme measure is to change one’s username and/or delete one’s profile.

USC student newspaper accused of misleading stories

The USC Daily Trojan reporting one sided views with limited journalistic rigor

The Daily Trojan has reported on USC scandals. Readers have complained of incomplete, misleading and one sided views. A critical example is reporting the experience of a White female student who reported misconduct in 2017 and mostly White Professors that blindly sided with her. The Daily Trojan only advertises the she said/he said claim. They never reported that the student dismissed her claim and that the USC Senate determined that USC mishandled investigation. They also did not made the connection with the Title IX office reported internal corruption scandal.

Misleading and false advertising is rampant in the misconduct online industry

The owners of the "Academic Sexual Misconduct Database" are accused of false advertising and irresponsible use of online content.

academicsexualmisconductdatabase.org argues that it is an aggregator of publicably published information. But owners of this site created the criteria and algorithm that select and display incomplete, misleading and prejudicial information. This misinformation generates hate against the individuals listed in their website. See below an example whereby a white student accuser dismissed her misconduct claim and the school admitted mishandling the investigation. Yet, the site advertises outdated and misleading information that seek to permanently damage the reputation of the accused.

Predatory Law Firms that rely on misleading and libelous advertising to stay in business

Beware of Law Firms that engage in misleading, libelous and unethical advertising

A law firm represented a White female student that dismissed her claim against a Brown Professor in 2019. Yet, they still advertise the original claim to attract new clients.

The use of incomplete and misleading information that give consumer an incorrect understanding of their serivce is unethical and in many states illegal.

Female student decides to walk away from her harassment claim against a minority scholar after standard probe

How many times have Universities rushed to judgement in harasment claims against male professor?

How many times have accusers dismissed their harassment claims after being asked to provide evidence?

How many times have the public at large supported accusers based on who (white) or what (women) they represent rather than the evidence they present?

Have minority scholars been disproportionately affected by these accusations and subjected to the consequences of such accusations?

Safe Space for Minority scholars

This is a safe space for you, if you are an scholar from a minority background who have been subjected to discrimination and false accusations!
